Netflix's Live-Action One Piece Series Arrives This Year, New Poster Revealed

Netflix has released a new poster for its One Piece live-action series that reveals a 2023 release date for the long-awaited adaptation.

The official Twitter account for the Netflix series shared the poster (below), which shows off Iñaki Godoy as Luffy in an iconic One Piece pose, with text above him simply reading "Setting Sail 2023".

Netflix didn't share a more specific release date or window for the series, meaning fans will have to wait a while longer to find out when exactly they can see the Straw Hat crew in (live) action.

Though it's not official, the show will likely only cover the original East Blue arc, which was chapters one to 100 of the One Piece manga, which sees protagonist Luffy start his journey and assemble his pirate crew.

Netflix has been fairly tight-lipped about the show, which was first announced in 2017, but shared a behind the scenes look last year that showed off its incredible sets including the Baratie Bar, a giant restaurant ship that was built piece by piece for the series.

Alongside Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu plays Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd plays Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson plays Usopp, and Taz Skylar plays Sanji.

The supplementary cast also includes Morgan Davies as Koby, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Alvida, Aidan Scott as Helmeppo, Jeff Ward as Buggy, McKinley Belcher III as Arlong, and Vincent Regan as Garp.

Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelancer and acting UK news editor. He'll talk about The Witcher all day.
