Tom Holland, the actor who has played Spider-Man in the MCU since 2016's Captain America: Civil War, has revealed his favorite Spider-Man movie… and it's not one of the three he starred in.
Speaking to Variety, Holland confirmed that his favorite Spidey film is actually Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. However, this was before he had the chance to see its sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, so that pick may not last for long.
“I think the first ‘Spider-Verse’ movie is the best Spider-Man movie that’s ever been made,” Holland said. “I’m so proud of everyone involved. [Producer] Amy Pascal is like my mom. I was supposed to go with her [to the premiere of Across the Spider-Verse] as her date, I couldn’t go because I’m here working. But I’m incredibly proud of them, I’m excited for the second one. I’m sure it will live up to every expectation, and I can’t wait to see it.”

These comments follow Holland's previous plea to the team behind the Spider-Verse films to allow him, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon to make the jump from live-action to animation, especially after Pascal approached him to possibly join the sequel. Unfortunately for Holland, he was still waiting for the call to actually make an appearance back in 2021.
"Love them and I'm just waiting for the phone call,” Holland said. “Guys, call us. Put us in your movie, we want to be in it.”
Alongside revealing his favorite Spidey film, Holland also spoke to Variety about Spider-Man 4. While he confirmed he and the team have been having meetings about it, those discussions have stopped due to the ongoing writers' strike.
“I can’t talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings," Holland said of Spider-Man 4. "We’ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers."
